Contact the lodge desk

Every enquiry is read and answered by someone who works in the building. Expect a reply within one working day, and expect it to be specific.

Desk staffed 07:00–22:00 Night porter until 06:00 No online booking or payment

Prepare an email draft

The form below does not send anything. When you select Build my email draft, your own mail application opens with the details arranged in a readable message addressed to the lodge desk. You can edit it, add anything we forgot to ask, and send it yourself — or close it and nothing happens at all.

Nothing you type here is transmitted to a server, saved in a database or shared with anyone. If your device has no mail application configured, use the Email the lodge desk link and write to us directly, or telephone during desk hours.

Before you write

Four things that speed up a useful reply

Most correspondence takes two exchanges. These four details usually reduce it to one.

01

How you sleep

Light sleeper, early riser, or back after midnight? It determines the floor and the stair we offer you, and it is the single most useful thing you can tell us.

02

How you arrive

Train, car or airport, and roughly when. In winter the answer changes what we recommend entirely, because the pass road and the railway do not behave the same way.

03

What you eat

Allergies, intolerances and firm dislikes. One kitchen, one seating, no choice of main course — so the cooks need to know in advance rather than at the table.

04

What you want from the days

Long walks, deep rest, work with a view, or evenings in the quarter. We will tell you honestly if the dates or the building do not suit the answer.
