Privacy notice
This is a static website. It has no database, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and it cannot receive a form submission.
What this website collects
Nothing. Every page you are reading is a plain file served to your browser. There is no server-side application, no content management system, no login, no comment facility and no tracking pixel. We set no cookies of any kind and we do not use local storage. There is no analytics package, no advertising network tag, no heat-mapping tool and no social media embed on any page.
The stylesheet and the small script that powers the mobile menu, the questions accordion and the email draft builder are served from this same site. No fonts, scripts, images or resources are loaded from third-party services, so no third party learns that you visited.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical access logs, as essentially all web servers do. These typically record the requested address, the time of the request, the HTTP status, the referring page where a browser sends one, and a user-agent string, alongside a truncated or full IP address depending on the provider’s configuration. These records exist to keep the site available and secure, to diagnose faults and to identify abuse. They are not combined with any other information, are not used to build a profile of you, and are not shared for marketing. Providers generally retain such logs for a short period, commonly between seven and ninety days, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
The contact form and email
The form on our contact page does not transmit anything. When you select the button, the fields you have completed are assembled into a message and handed to your own email application as a draft addressed to the lodge desk. Nothing leaves your device until you choose to send it, and if you close the draft, no information is recorded anywhere.
Once you do send an email, it becomes ordinary correspondence. We use it to answer your enquiry and, if you go on to stay with us, to manage the arrangements for that stay. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a person who has contacted us, and the performance of a contract once a reservation exists. Enquiry correspondence that does not lead to a stay is deleted after twelve months. Correspondence relating to a completed stay is kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and then deleted.
We do not add correspondents to a mailing list. We send no newsletters, no marketing and no automated follow-ups. If you write to us, you will hear from a person about the thing you asked about, and nothing else.
Information handled at the lodge itself
Separately from this website, ordinary hospitality record-keeping applies when you stay. That includes your name and contact details, the dates of your stay, dietary and accessibility notes you have given us so the kitchen and housekeeping can act on them, and the guest-registration details that local law requires us to record. Payment is taken at the lodge; card details are processed by the payment terminal provider and are never stored by us and never entered on this website.
The gaming salon annexe operates its own separate records to meet its licensing obligations, including the verification of age and identity at every entry, and any self-exclusion request a guest makes. Those records are kept apart from hospitality records, are used only for licensing and player-protection purposes, and are never used for marketing. Identification is checked visually at the door; documents are not photographed or copied unless a licensing authority specifically requires it.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, ask us to restrict how we use it, and object to any use based on legitimate interests. Write to the lodge desk and we will answer within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you are entitled to complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes and contact
If this notice changes, the review date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions because the substance has not changed since the site was built: this website collects nothing.
Questions about privacy should go to the lodge desk. Email the lodge desk or write to Aureline Pass, Alte Passstrasse 4, Vesserand.
